Sorry I've been such a wanker and haven't updated for so long...
Like Dan, I think I'll weigh in on the election results. I like to think of myself as an Independent but I don't know. I tried a website that would supposedly define me but its questions weren't detailed enough for me to decide. I guess I'm fiscally a Democrat but morally a Republican.
One thing for sure: Congress needed to go! There have been no checks and balances for the past 6 years. Anything the president wanted, he got. He altered bills before signing them, people added "pork" to every bill they passed, there has been no Congressional oversight for the war or terrorism, no subpeonas for military or intelligence mistakes, no campaign finance reform, and of course no charges brought for ANY scandals (Jack Abramoff, Tom DeLay, Abu Ghraib, etc.). These guys are crooks! I think they're getting off easy. Same thing with Rumsfeld.
George Bush's administration should go down as one of the most crony-laden administrations ever. I'm sick of no-bid contracts, $1.5 billion unaccounted for, Haliburton, and how nearly every presidential appointee is Texan and worked for Bush's father (e.g. Robert Gates).
I'm not saying the Democrats are any better. Given the same circumstances, I'm sure the Democrats would be just as corrupt, but the Republicans have been in power for so long they have the big lobbyists in their corner and, so, outdo the Dems for moneyraising. The Democrats don't have anything going for them except that they aren't Republicans. They ran on the promise of change. So let's see it.
My only regret is that they didn't win more senate seats. When things are this close, every Democrat will probably vote Democrat and every Republican will vote Republican. We won't see any internal party discussion. We'll have partisan politics for another 4 years...
Business as usual.

Nice blog title bubba.
Democrats 4 eva!!!!
I also view myself as independent, despite the obvious pro-Democrat flavor of my last post (although I would probably classify myself as morally Democrat and fiscally Republican--that is, old-school Republican fiscal responsibility vs. suicidal tax cuts that are supposed to finance a war costing billions).
I had to laugh when Nancy Pelosi promised to run the most open, honest Congress in history. We'll see about that.
