There's a problem with always trying to be objective and logical and analytical. It's like you're at a puppet show but can't enjoy it because you're always looking for the strings. There's no magic.
I want magic. I want to be mystified.
A couple of days ago, after dropping Shauna off at the airport, Marci, Chrissa, and I were talking in the car and Marci asked: If you could live in any movie, which would it be? We came up with a few answers: Lord of the Rings (i.e. Middle Earth), Legends of the Fall (i.e. rustic, antiquated Montana)...a few others. Then Chrissa answered, "Harry Potter," and Marci and I immediately agreed. Who wouldn't want to go to Hogwarts? Who doesn't want life to be magical?
I think you can create magic. I think there are things that transcend logic, like love or art or religion. But you have to hold to those things. You have to let yourself be swept up in them.

Is Amber in a movie? If so, why haven't I been told about it? Or perhaps we're just talking fictional places now?
Man, there's so many. I won't reiterate all the great choices mentioned previously, but movie-wise? I think it'd be cool to live in Kill Bill or Ninja Scroll. Or Nausicaa (of the Valley of the Wind). Or the Matrix! (pre crappy sequels, of course) Or Star Wars!
I guess a lot of my choices indicate I'd be happy to live in a non-idyllic world, so long as I get to have cool powers. Instead, I have to live in a non-idyllic world, sans cool powers. Sigh.
That's it ... I'm transferring to Hogwarts. I'll be the Billy Madison of the magic world. (That, by the way, references a movie that--while entertaining--I would not want to live in.)
